Our Environmental PolicyPegasus Print Group has been an active member of the National Packaging Covenant with environmental and recycling issues becoming a major focus of the business. We are also proud signatories to the National Packaging Covenant and a holder of an Environmental Protection Authority licence number 7030.As both a manufacturer and consumer of printed-paper products, Pegasus Print Group actively supports the reduction of waste to land fill through recycling programs of manufacturing and office waste. Our recent investment in CTP (Computer-To-Plate) printing plate technology at our Mega site in Blacktown now completes the upgrade to our 3 manufacturing sites in Sydney. CTP technology not only reduces set up and make ready times on press; it also reduces cost and energy. Past film and chemical processes are no longer required, and that's great for our environment and great for sea life.With support of our supply chain partners, we encourage continuous improvement through investment and action plans that will have a positive impact on the environment.These action plans broadly targets five areas for ongoing improvement:- Materials Management- Waste Management- Environmental Focus- Product Stewardship- Education and Awareness
Material and Waste ManagementWaste assessments are routinely carried out and reported to measure specific improvement for waste and recycling. Pegasus Print Group actively recycles paper, cardboard, liquids and containers, including general office materials such as stationary, ink cartridges and HDPE and PET containers.
Environmental Focus As human beings within a business we are just as focused on a sustainable environment for our generations to come, as we are toward insuring a sustainable business. Through dealings with both our suppliers and consumers, our focus on supply chain custody raises the profile and importance of international accreditation from our suppliers to regulate each touch point throughout the harvesting, manufacturing, distribution of materials used in the manufacturing of your printed goods.
Product StewardshipResponsible packaging and new product development is an integrated criteria of Pegasus Print Group. Product design must demonstrate the ability to contribute to the reduction of energy and green house gases, environmental waste and raw materials used in the construction.
Environmental Awareness Increasing the awareness of Pegasus employees, customers, suppliers and our end users is important for not just the end use of our products but also for the kerbside recycling system.The more companies involved in the packaging cycle, high lighting the importance of recycling, the more likely the overall impact on the environment will be improved.This is not our last word in this subject.
